We attended our friends son's baptism (My partner is friends with the sons dad, and the mother and I were close-ish), and as a gift we offered a photo frame, a silver cup and spoon set, and a little clothing outfit (As we are two of the Godparents, collectively, there are 6 of us).When the mother opened the gifts, she made a comment like "Oh, another photo frame, that will go well with the other 20 we got" (she didn't receive 20, but was making reference to how many she'd already received).I just brushed it off, assuming it was just a bit of a joke that came off a bit sour, not intended to be rude.But I heard her talking in the kitchen about how she hadn't receive anything she could actually use, and she even went as far to say " what am I going to do with all this silver Sh**" I understand we did not buy very original gifts, but after all it was a christening. I am traditional when it comes to gift giving, and was planning to save the originality for his birthday gift, rather than for his religious ceremony.So, I am a little bit hurt, but also a bit mad too. She is not Catholic herself, nor is the partner, but I have a feeling she had the baptism from pressure from her family.But, it almost seems like she had a baptism purely for gifts, I know that sounds extreme, I'd like to think it was not the case, but she seemed so ungrateful.She was having a stressful day which I also took into consideration..but really I don't think a busy day fully justifies being ungrateful. It might explain the outburst, but not the opinion itself.
Would you other mums be a bit offended?

I have heard the 90/10 rule works best, but the point is, whether its 80/20 or 90/10 or 75/25 doesn’t matter as much as how VALUABLE is the CONTENT you are delivering 
If you follow 99/1 and your 99% content is irrelavant, untimely, and just plain valueless to your readership, you really don’t have a 99/1 ratio
