Christening a baby is very important especially to Catholics. they believe that it would protect their baby from spirits and that the sins of their ancestors would not be passed on to them. they would also be welcomed into the spiritual world and be introduced in their parent's religious beliefs. this is very important that is why it is considered to be a major occasion in the family. the relatives and friends of the parents are invited and often times some are chosen to be the godparents of the child. You could also have it gift-wrapped on the same store for your convenience. but if the parents did not opt for a gift registry, then it is up to you to decide on what gift you are going to give on the baby and where to buy it.

In choosing the right christening gift for the baby, you should ask yourself about the motive behind it. Are you giving the gift due to pure generosity and kindness to the baby, and that you are giving it in regard to the occasion or are you giving the gift because you are expecting something in return with strings attached and compelled to do so because you are obliged? whatever your motive may be, giving the right christening gift to the baby is still a dilemma that a person is faced. the gift often strengthens the bond between the parents and the one giving the gift that is why it is advisable that the gift is well thought of. You should take into consideration the personalities, beliefs and values of the parents. the gift should coincide with these and should not go against them.
Always remember that the gift may not be expensive. If you are gifted with artistic talent or good in making something, you could make the gift yourself as a remembrance from you to either parents or to the baby itself when he or she grows up. the gift should be practical. It should be something that can be used by the parent in taking care of the child or something that the child itself could use.
