My husband and I are the godparents of our best friends' baby boy. should we go with something more religious? I don't want to buy silver monogrammed rattles, cups or anything b/c I know he will receive tons of that kind of thing.

i think savings bonds are great ideas. for my best friends baby i got him a picture frame with a beautiful cross on it and a savings bond...his mother loved it.

Depends which stock it is. a stock is good because it will teach the kid about value.

I recommend getting him a gold stock.
